Women of Valour

Women of Valour

North America

Susan Sarandon plays Colonel Jessup, an American military nurse who presents a case for a bronze medal with Valor to a military hearing. She tells her story of being taken prisoner in the Phillipines by the Japanese during WWII. After surviving a death march from Bataan, she was put into a POW camp run by the enemy with a group of American Army nurses. She and her fellow prisoners struggled for survival, working 14 hour days with limited food and no medical supplies. After nearly three years, they were liberated by American forces. Based on actual events, "Women of Valor" is a moving story of courage and triumph in the face of terror and abuse during wartime.
